Alice Vial is a director & screenwriter known for her sharp sense of humor and her distinctive ability to intertwine comedy with emotional depth, as demonstrated in her critically acclaimed debut feature L’Âme Idéale.
She first gained international acclaim as a co-writer of the César-nominated drama Les Innocentes, and her breakout short film Les Bigorneaux (César Award for Best Short Film), a portrait of a father-daughter relationship, establishing her voice as one that balances humor with tenderness.
Alice has also explored more symbolic and introspective territory, notably with the short film Gueule de Loup, a poetic and powerful exploration of a child’s inner world. She further cemented her comedic style as the co-creator of the hit digital series Loulou and as the director of the award-winning dramedy Septième Ciel.
